really lame, i know...

i have officially come to grips with the fact that i am a lame blogger.  time just seems to somehow escape me and there's always something else i should be doing.  but people are starting to get pissed.  it has been an extremely busy summer (which i can't believe is over) and so i will try some feeble attempt to summarize it here in pictures.  and for whatever reason...blogspot mixes all my pictures up and gets them out of order.  and when i try to move them around, my computer has a meltdown and shuts down.  so you'll just have to bear with me here...

We set up the pool kind of late in the season, but have still gotten some good use out of it.

josie has really come out of her shell this summer.  her personality is very sweet, but also mischievous.

over labor day weekend we went to visit my sister who lives near madison, wi.  here are all the cousins at blue mounds state park.  it was a beautiful day.

our subsequent hike (death march).  it got a little longer than we all expected, especially with five children.  ahh, nature!

yes, i'm here...

have you been wondering where i've been?  or am i just flattering myself?  i'm still alive and kicking.  so busy with school, i can hardly breathe.  i started my second summer session last week and am taking "principles of financial accounting".  excuse me while i vomit.  today during class, i found myself thinking..."who thinks up this crap?"  and then my professor tells us that some french monk back in the 1600's came up with it.  seriously?  didn't he have anything better to do?

we put up one of those big trampolines yesterday.  the kids are loving it.  when i came out of my shower this morning at 6:45, they were already dressed and outside jumping!  i wish i felt like jumping on a trampoline at 6:45 am.  imagine what i could accomplish if that were the case.

we've spent time with my grandparents over memorial day weekend.  it's a tradition to go to the cemetery every year.  mattie had her spring concert and wrapped up school last week.  can't believe she'll be in 2nd grade next year!

yes.  this is my hubby and my grandma attempting to roast hotdogs in the rain!  now that's dedication!

the rain stopped and we were able to roast some marshmallows.  or washmallows as elijah calls them.

what we've been up to...

fieldwork is in full swing.  jason has been working long hours and spending alot of time in the tractor.  which is nice, because he can usually take a kid or two along for a ride.  josie loves being in the tractor!  especially with her daddy.  i even ran the soil finisher!  so fun.  i love driving tractor, hee hee!  in this picture jason is plowing up the field which he later planted with barley and alfalfa.  this will make great hay for the cows!

i like cows.  i can relate to them.  i feel some sort of bonding thing happening, especially when i'm nursing.  i sometimes felt like a cow and all i was good for was milk.  and oh how i would have loved to have some huge super-power milking "parlor" where i could go and get some relief.  like i said...i can relate to my bovine sisters.  don't laugh...your day's coming sister!  this particular jersey took a liking to me and my camera and was posing.  isn't she cute!?  you should see her smile!

for mother's day we went to rochester to visit mada and jim.  grandma & grandpa were there too!  josie loves her great-grandpa willard.

we flew jim's kite.  it turned out to be a beautiful day.  they were predicting rain all day.  but luckily, they were wrong!

the other morning i woke to find two strange cowboys and one sweet cowgirl in my living room.  they look pretty threatening don't they?

grandpa willard gave all of the grandkids (including me) a ride in jim's new lawn wagon.

dearest readers, as most of you know, jason's family runs a dairy farm.  they milk about 100 jersey cows and jason is works there as well as his brother cleeson.  anyhoo...the farm will be hosting "family night on the farm" on june 12th.  judy asked me if i would take the family picture to go out in the brochures/mailings and such.  so tonight (since it finally wasn't raining) we attempted a family picture.  below are the two best contenders.  which one do you like best?  leave me a comment if you don't mind.  and then stop on out for family night on the farm if you are in the area!
